Food Safety and Quality Control for Fall Production

The fall season is one of the most productive on the farm, with the return of cool-season greens, season extension, and storage crops. In this workshop, participants will prepare for the fall season by identifying and planning to implement post-harvest best practices for food safety and quality control. By the end of the workshop, participants will: Recognize and apply the Good Agricultural Practices for post-harvest handling, storage, and transportation of medium-to-large volumes of fresh produce; Analyze current post-harvest farming systems and identify no-regrets investments in farm infrastructure; Prepare farm business for increased volume of production and sales; This workshop combines technical assistance with hands-on demonstrations and the shared knowledge of experienced growers.
