Davidson County Local Food Network Impact Report

At the Davidson County Local Food Network, our mission is to connect community members with fresh, locally grown food while supporting sustainable farming practices. Over the past year, we’ve seen tremendous growth in both our reach and the positive impact we’ve made in the community.

Supporting Local Farmers
Through our network, 17 local farmers gained access to wider markets, enabling them to sell directly to consumers. By championing local agriculture, we’ve contributed to the economic growth of Davidson County, providing farmers with fair compensation while strengthening the regional food system.

Providing Fresh, Healthy Food
We’ve worked tirelessly to make fresh, nutritious, and local food more accessible to everyone in our community. Whether through our food hubs, farmers' markets, or community outreach programs, we’ve seen a significant increase in the number of individuals and families choosing locally grown produce, meat, dairy, and other products. Additionally, 443 individuals and families were supplied with fresh, locally grown food, and 13,000+ families using SNAP EBT were able to access fresh, locally grown produce, meat, dairy, and other products.

Impact on Sustainability
Our focus on sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship continues to drive positive change. By promoting regenerative agriculture, reducing food miles, and minimizing food waste, we’ve supported eco-friendly farming practices that protect our land for future generations.

Building Community
One of our proudest achievements is the growing sense of community fostered through our network. From educational workshops to special events, we’ve created spaces where community members can come together, learn, and share their love for local food. We believe that food has the power to connect people, and we’re honored to facilitate that connection.

Looking Ahead
In the coming year, we aim to continue expanding our network, increase our educational outreach, and support even more farmers and producers. We are committed to creating a more resilient and sustainable food system in Davidson County, one that benefits both our local economy and our community’s health.

Together, we can build a thriving local food economy that nourishes both people and the planet.
