As we approach the holiday, we’ve noticed a few new faces in our community—so welcome to DCLFN! We’re excited you’re here with us as we build a stronger, healthier local food system. Before you carve the turkey and gather around the table, here’s a little update + inspiration from the hub.
Thanksgiving Hours & Delivery
Our food hub, Piedmont Fresh, will be closed this upcoming Thursday for Thanksgiving.
To ensure you still have access to fresh local goods, our delivery will take place on Wednesday instead.
We’re not sharing photos or announcements about the new building yet—this request is purely for planning interior design and updating our website timeline, so please send the images if you have them!
(You can insert a small reminder/call‑to‑action here for the images.)
Local Food on Your Table
This Thanksgiving, consider leaning into the bounty of the Piedmont region. Choosing local produce supports our farmers, shortens the supply chain, and often gives you fresher, more flavorful options.
What’s in Season Right Now in the Piedmont (NC)
According to North Carolina seasonal produce guides:
Leafy greens like kale, collards and Swiss chard are in full force.
Root vegetables such as sweet potatoes, turnips and beets are peaking.
Winter squashes (butternut, acorn, spaghetti squash) are abundant.
Apples and pears remain in season in many parts of NC.
Quick tip: For your holiday table, think roasted sweet potatoes with fresh herbs, a medley of winter squash, or a crisp salad of local greens with apples/pears and maybe a drizzle of local honey.
Gifting & Holiday Bundles
At Piedmont Fresh we’re also celebrating the season of giving. We have gifting items available—soaps, jams, herbs, microgreens and more. You can either pick a ready‑made gift or create your own custom gift basket at home using:
Some of our soaps or wellness products
One or more jams/preserves
Fresh produce, herbs or microgreens
And don’t forget: we have eggnog available on the website too—perfect for dessert inspiration.
These baskets make thoughtful gifts that highlight local producers and support our food community.
Thanks for being part of our network. Enjoy the time with friends/family, savor the flavors of our local farms, and maybe consider gifting a basket of local goodness. We’re thankful for the vibrant food community we’re building together in Davidson County.
