Nothing beats a bowl of homemade chili on a chilly evening—especially when it’s made with premium, locally raised beef from Rocky Forge Farm. Their ground beef is juicy, flavorful, and perfect for a classic chili that warms both heart and belly.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 lb Rocky Forge Farm Ground Beef

  • 1 28oz can chopped tomatoes

  • 2 cups water

  • 2–3 Tbsp chili powder

  • 2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Ground pepper to taste

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked kidney beans

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook until soft but not brown, about 10 minutes.

  3. Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it apart as you cook.

  4. Stir in the tomatoes, water, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.

  5. Add kidney beans and simmer for 15 more minutes to blend flavors.

Serving Suggestion: Top with a dollop of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and a handful of Fritos for that ultimate chili experience.

This recipe is a perfect example of how locally sourced ingredients elevate a simple meal. By choosing Rocky Forge Farm beef from Piedmont Fresh, you’re supporting local farmers and enjoying fresh, flavorful food straight from the Piedmont.
