Beautiful pasture. Healthy pasture. Healthy Cows.

Lloyd and Tammy Roberts

Roberts Farm is a first-generation farm run by Lloyd and Tammy Roberts. He purchased this property, which luckily was once a dairy farm, which means the pasture was designed to graze cows. Lloyd is particularly fastidious about his pasture, after all, healthy soil means healthy forage means healthy cows.

In the world of cattle, breeding plays a crucial role in longterm vigor of your herd. Selecting healthy bulls, identifying good mothers ensures strong genetic lines. Raising animals requires daily supervision - Are any of the heifers pregnant? Are the mothers taking care of their calves? Raising animals is not a seasonal job, it is 365 days a year.

Spanning 200 acres of pasture and 112 acres of timberland, the farm is a testament to the symbiotic relationship between nature and nurture. Through an Agricultural Easement with the Three Rivers Land Trust, Lloyd and Tammy have secured the future of their land, safeguarding it from the encroachment of development while reaping the benefits of conservation.

Lloyd, as a first-generation farmer is painfully aware of how affordable agriculture land is quickly disappearing. This challenge does not bode well for the next generation of farmers. He is slowly trying to acquire more and more land and adding it to his farmland trust ensuring that there is farmland available for future generations.
