Know Your Farmer: SandyCreek Farm

A Farm to Explore in Every Season

Located in western Davidson County, SandyCreek Farm is an agritourism farm offering visitors a place to experience agriculture, shop for local products, and enjoy the changing seasons.

Best known locally for their summer U-pick and We-pick blueberries and blackberries, SandyCreek Farm offers much more than berries. Their farm includes a country store, greenhouse, and a unique shiitake mushroom log forest tucked beneath the trees.

Each season brings something new to discover.

From Berries to Mushrooms

Summer is a favorite time to visit SandyCreek Farm, when their blueberry and blackberry fields are filled with fruit ready for picking. Visitors can enjoy U-pick opportunities or purchase berries that have already been picked.

The farm is also home to a hidden shiitake mushroom log forest. In the spring, visitors may catch a glimpse of mushrooms growing from the hardwood logs beneath the forest canopy.

Together, these different parts of the farm showcase the variety of crops and growing practices that make SandyCreek Farm unique.

Growing Something Beautiful

SandyCreek Farm's greenhouse adds another layer to the farm experience. They offer a colorful selection of annuals and perennials for gardeners looking to add something new to their landscapes.

Whether visitors are looking for plants, fresh berries, or simply a reason to spend some time on the farm, the greenhouse and farm store offer something to discover throughout the year.

The SandyCreek Farm Store

The SandyCreek Farm Store is stocked with seasonal products made from the farm's own harvests, including small-batch jams, jellies, preserves, and sauces featuring their blueberries, blackberries, figs, mushrooms, and Muscadine grapes.

Their selection also includes greenhouse-grown plants, garden supplies, and a variety of local and regional products from other producers.

Visitors can find products such as goat cheese from Holly Grove Farms, Ashe County cheeses and country butter, and handcrafted crackers from The Accidental Baker.

And for those who can't make it out to the farm, some of SandyCreek Farm's products are also available through Piedmont Fresh. Their homemade jams and jellies are a great way to enjoy a taste of their farm from home.

More Than a Farm Visit

SandyCreek Farm is a place where agriculture, local food, and community come together.

From picking berries in the summer to exploring the greenhouse, discovering their mushroom forest, or browsing the farm store, they offer visitors opportunities to experience something different throughout the year.

Their commitment to growing, making, and sharing local products also makes them an important part of the local food community.

SandyCreek Farm invites you to slow down, explore the farm, and enjoy something fresh from the season.
